ESG and Corporate Sustainability at SCS Group

ESG and corporate sustainability

ESG provides the overarching framework through which SCS Group's corporate sustainability commitments are governed, delivered and continuously strengthened.

This approach reflects enterprise governance expectations and aligns with how ESG is typically structured across annual reporting, tenders and assurance frameworks.

Our strategic intent

At SCS Group, and through our Indigenous-led division SCS Indigenous (SCSi), we believe commercial success goes hand in hand with community empowerment.

We support a diverse and interconnected cross-section of society, and our strength comes from unity, diversity and shared purpose. As a profit-for-purpose organisation, we focus on creating lasting community impact through a structured and accountable approach to corporate sustainability.

Our commitment is delivered through six core contribution areas that guide how we engage with partners and communities:

Providing services at a reduced cost to ease financial pressure on organisations and the communities they support.

Referral fee funding

Generating funding through referral partnerships, with fees redirected to support community programs and initiatives of your choice including yours.

Workplace advocacy

Actively promoting partner causes within our workforce to build awareness, participation, and cultural support.

Platform amplification

Leveraging our brand, channels, and networks to extend reach, visibility, and impact of partner initiatives.

In-kind services

Contributing professional services, resources, or expertise in place of direct cash contributions.

Direct financial support

Providing monetary contributions to directly fund programs, services, or critical operational needs.

Commercial success and community empowerment are not separate objectives.

Our ESG framework and corporate sustainability approach

Corporate sustainability at SCS Group is guided by our Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) framework, which provides the structure through which our commitments are governed, delivered and continuously improved.

Together, ESG, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) partnerships and our Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) strategy ensure that sustainability at SCS Group is structured, measurable and led with accountability.

Our ESG framework defines how we manage environmental responsibility, social impact and governance across our operations. CSR partnerships enable us to deliver meaningful outcomes alongside trusted community organisations, while our SCS Together DEI Strategy strengthens inclusion, fairness and opportunity across our workforce and supply chain.

Social impact and inclusion – our people and communities

Diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI)

People are at the centre of our sustainability approach. Through our SCS Together DEI Strategy, we are building a workplace where every individual feels valued, respected and empowered to thrive.

Our DEI priorities focus on representation, fairness, inclusion, leadership accountability and continuous improvement. These commitments are embedded across recruitment, training, career development, supplier relationships and leadership accountability, and are reviewed regularly to ensure meaningful progress.

Empowering community partnerships with purpose-driven impact (CSR)

We approach CSR partnerships as long-term, values-aligned relationships rather than one-off sponsorships. Our partnerships are designed to create shared value – strengthening community outcomes while also supporting employee engagement, advocacy and organisational learning.

Environmental sustainability in practice

Sustainable products, equipment and cleaning technologies

Our environmental commitments extend beyond policy and into the products, equipment and technologies used across our operations. We prioritise solutions that reduce water, energy and chemical use, improve indoor environments, and support safer outcomes for our workforce and building occupants.

This includes energy-efficient equipment, low-moisture and microfibre systems, controlled chemical dosing, chemical-free technologies where appropriate, and environmentally preferred products aligned with recognised standards.

Environmental sustainability practices in action

Environmental responsibility is delivered through day-to-day operational decisions.

Governance, policies and standards

Our sustainability commitments are underpinned by formal governance, certified systems and clear policies that guide how we operate. We maintain and continuously improve certified management systems across all operations.

SCS Group is also a proud member of the Building Service Contractors Association of Australia (BSCAA) and is Sedex certified.

Measuring progress and continuous improvement

We recognise that corporate sustainability is an ongoing responsibility. Our ESG, CSR and DEI initiatives are reviewed regularly through internal governance processes, leadership oversight and performance reporting, with insights used to strengthen impact over time.

Sustainability requires ongoing review, not one-time commitments.

Our commitment to responsible, sustainable growth

Corporate sustainability at SCS Group is not a standalone initiative. It is how we build trust, support our people, strengthen communities and deliver long-term value for our clients and partners.

Our commitment to transparency and accountability ensures that sustainability outcomes are regularly assessed and communicated to stakeholders.
