Social Impact - Our 'Why'

Our 'Why' is the driving force behind SCS Indigenous. We are fundamentally committed to generating tangible opportunities that empower Indigenous individuals and communities.

Empowering Through Employment

We're proud to team up with Indigenous community-controlled organizations to help Indigenous women rebuild their lives after experiencing domestic and family violence.

Investing in Future Generations

We actively put our resources into the potential of young Indigenous Australians. We do this through specific scholarships, mentorship programs, educational grants, and initiatives focused on community leadership.

Creating Career Pathways

Working alongside Indigenous-led Registered Training Organisations, we jointly create structured traineeships and clear employment pathways.

Supporting the Indigenous Business Ecosystem

We make a conscious effort to prioritise and incorporate Indigenous-owned suppliers into both our purchasing strategy and our long-term supply chains.

Deepening Community Engagement

We go beyond simple transactions to build truly sustainable partnerships. By actively participating in and sponsoring local initiatives, cultural events, and community projects, we forge genuine, mutually beneficial relationships. This allows us to meaningfully contribute to reconciliation, cultural preservation, and shared social responsibility.

Our Directors

Nicholas Pastras

co-founder

Nicholas Pastras, Managing Director and co-founder of SCS Group, has over 25 years of hands-on experience in the commercial cleaning industry. His visionary leadership is what made SCS Group a nationally recognized, ISO-accredited leader, known for being innovative, transparent, and always delivering great service.

Nicholas built a high-performing company on the foundations of precise operations, ethical practices, and developing his team. Now, by co-founding SCS Indigenous, he's extending that same drive to create economic opportunities for Indigenous communities.

Scott McCartney

Co-Founder

Scott McCartney, a proud Bunurong and Wotjobaluk man, truly embodies resilience, cultural pride, and visionary leadership. Despite facing early challenges, his sheer determination propelled him through his education and into a successful 17-year corporate career, even reaching a CEO position by the age of 28.

His leadership style, deeply anchored in cultural values, helped him navigate complex business landscapes. As the CEO of a prominent Indigenous Chamber since 2019, he significantly expanded its membership from 120 to over 570 businesses, always with a clear focus on building concrete economic pathways for Aboriginal people.

Scott's return to Melbourne highlights his dedication to family values, which are central to how he leads. Married for more than 24 years with four children, he passionately shows how cultural identity and corporate achievement can come together to inspire the generations to come.
